Mathematics
graduates include Ph.D. mathematicians or Ed.D.
educators who are employed as researchers and
educators in the public and private sectors throughout
the nation. The Department's teacher certification
program contributes a significant number of teachers
to that critical pool of mathematics educators
at the secondary level.
A significant number of mathematics students have:
- Been awarded four-year scholarships through the Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics in Applied Sciences (DNIMAS)
- Gained research experiences with principal investigators within the program
- Participated in research projects through summer programs offered at major universities nationwide
- Participated in research projects through summer internships
Mathematics students participate in the activities of:
- The Mathematics Club
- The University's Honors Program
- The Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society
Members of the departmental faculty hold Ph.D. degrees in specialized areas such as:
- Ordinary Differential Equations
- Partial Differential Equations
- Numerical Analysis
- Mathematics Education
- Algebra
- Analysis
- Applied Physics
Mathematics majors are provided with:
