The Department of Nursing offers Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degree programs in nursing, which are fully
accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commissions. The Nursing programs are approved by the Virginia
Board of Nursing. Nursing graduates include Ph.D.’s who are employed as health care professionals, educators, and researchers
in the public and private sectors throughout the nation. Through its nursing courses the department prepares students to become
critical thinkers and conscientious, caring health professionals who are committed to excellence and responsibility in service to
others.
A significant number of Nursing students have:
- Received scholarships through the Emerging Nursing Scholars Achievement Project
- Received the Willie Mae Blanchard Brown Scholarship
