Graduates of the Physics Department may enter occupations in industry, government, and education. Many graduates continue
their education in graduate or professional schools.
A significant number of students have:
- Been awarded scholarships through the Center for Material Research (CMR) and the Bringing Education and Science Together (BEST) Laboratory
- Been awarded four year scholarships through the Dozoretz National Institute in Mathematics and Applied Sciences (DNIMAS)
- Gained research experiences with principal investigators within the department
- Participated in research projects through Summer programs offered at national laboratories and major universities
- Have received fellowships and teaching assistantships to attend major universities nationwide
Physics students participate in the activities of:
- The Society of Physics Students (SPS)
- The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
Physics faculty perform cutting edge research in the areas of:
- Materials science
- Nuclear physics
- Physics education
